2014 Lamborghini Veneno

2014_Lamborghini_Veneno_646828_i0Lamborghini has always been known for making some of the best-performing cars for drivers with a distinguished taste in vehicles. One of the most expensive vehicles that the company has ever produced is the 2014 Lamborghini Veneno Roadster. First unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Auto Show, only three of these vehicles were produced. The Lamborghini Veneno’s suggested price tag is a whopping $4.5 million.

Features And Specs

One of the most noticeable features on the 2014 Lamborghini Veneno is actually the absence of a common vehicle feature: a roof. The Veneno has no roof at all: instead, it comes with a rollover bar for safety. Edmunds reported late last year that according to Lamborghini, the reason for the Veneno’s lack of a roof is to improve aerodynamics and stability while cornering. It is a car that is truly designed for speed.

Under the hood, the 2014 Lamborghini Veneno comes with a 6.5 liter V12 engine that gets an impressive 750 horsepower. The Veneno’s engine uses Lamborghini’s unique 7-speed ISR transmission, which the company first developed in 2011. The Lamborghini Veneno’s top speed is 221 mph.

Style And Design

The Lamborghini Veneno’s design is based on its Aventador Roadster model, another limited-run high performance vehicle from Lamborghini that debuted in early 2011. To stay consistent with the goal of optimizing the Veneno for high speed and great handling, the 2014 Lamborghini Veneno is made from lightweight carbon-fiber. The materials used to construct the Veneno give it an impressive 4.25 lbs/hp power-to-weight ratio. On the rear of the vehicle, four triangular-shaped exhaust pipes increase the amount of downforce peak, which further contributes to the performance and cornering ability of the Veneno.

The Lamborghini Veneno also features a great deal of carbon fiber in its interior. The Veneno’s two bucket seats are made out of Forged Composite, a lightweight material patented by Lamborghini in 2010 as the result of a partnership with the Callaway Golf Company. The cockpit is also lined with a woven carbon-fiber, which gives the Veneno a very unique look and further contributes to its lightness.

Anyone that is passionate about high performance vehicles will love the 2014 Lamborghini Veneno. The Veneno is made to embody all of the characteristics of a racing prototype, yet it is totally street legal. The Veneno is one of the most unique cars that Lamborghini has produced since the company’s inception in the early 1960s.
